Congratulations to the 8th grade volleyball team on getting 2nd at their tournament over the weekend.


Congratulations to Madeline Voorhees, Rosie Henderson, and Atticus Drews for making it onto the what it means to be a miner board. During a home volleyball game these girls quickly cleaned a spill in the bleachers without being asked.


High school Book Club will meet today at lunch in the library.


The first meeting for prom planning will be Thursday the 23rd for all juniors. Please go to Mrs. Wards room (room 222) at lunch.

Students in the September IDLA Driver Education session: your final exams must be completed by Friday, Oct. 24th. You can take your exam at home or at school. Please see Mrs. Bauer if you have questions.

We are having a penny drive for cancer awareness week October 13th-17th. The class which raises the most money at the end of the week will be rewarded with a donut party. All proceeds will go to the Shoshone cancer resource center. Swing by the office windows to add to your class tubs.


During lunch this week, buy an extended lunch pass for $5. It’ll earn you 10 minutes of extra lunch Friday, the 24th. Your proceeds benefit the Shoshone Cancer Resource Center.

7th Grade Students! There has been some confusion regarding elections, to clarify:
Election speeches and votes will take place NEXT WEDNESDAY during 5th period in Mrs. Day’s classroom. Please go to her room right after lunch. Candidates who are running this gives you time to write speeches and campaign. Check with Mrs. Day if you have any questions.


Today during 4th period we will have schoolwide reading. Library students will deliver milk and cookies to your classroom. Students need to have reading material to fill at least 30 minutes of 4th period.

The Wallace Jr. Sr. High School Pep Parade will begin at 2:05 leaving from River and 4th St enroute to 6th and Cedar for a pep rally. Drivers of floats should be in front of Civic Auditorial by 1:45. Spectators wishing to view the parade should be along the parade route by 2:05pm.

October is “Booktober” in the library. To kick things off, we have Get Caught Reading. If your teachers catch you reading for fun, they will give you a coupon for a treat.


The homecoming dance is October 11th at Shoshon golf course from 7 to 10 pm. Tickets are $10 for a single and $15 for a couple. Tickets will be on sale at high school lunch starting Monday October 6th through Friday October 10th.


If you plan on bringing someone out of our district to the Homecoming dance on Oct 11th, you will need to get an out of district form from Mrs. Spooner’s window and have them turned in by Wednesday the 8th to the office.


Today’s junior high lunch activity will be a paper airplane contest in the gym. It will begin at noon and candy will be given to the plane that flies the farthest. This will be the last lunch activity for the week.


The concession stands will open at the field tomorrow for the powder puff game. Make sure to bring money if you want any snacks.

This year our library will be participating in the Idaho Teen Reading Challenge. The challenge is to read 8 books in 10 different categories from October through April. Everyone who completes at least one book will earn an entry to the monthly prize drawing for a 1910 gift card. October’s featured challenge is: “Read About Something That Scares You.” See Mrs. Bauer for your bookmark, tracking sheet, or journal.
