Policies
Books:
Kindergarten students may check out 1 book each week. Kindergarten students must return their books before they check out another one. Students in 1st grade may check out 1 book twice weekly. Students in 2nd grade check out 2 books twice weekly and all other students may check out 3 books for up to 28 days. All books must be returned to the library to renew. Interlibrary loans may only be renewed once. Special permission for more materials may be granted when necessary for an assignment.
Overdues and Fines:
Overdue slips and fine notices will be printed out and distributed to students at school. To help students learn to be responsible, no new loans will be permitted until overdue materials are returned.
OPAC fine: if a student has borrowed a book from the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) it must be turned in on time. If the students fails to return the book on time they will have to pay the fine before they can use the OPAC again.
Lost and Damaged Books:
If a book is lost or damaged, the book must be paid for before additional books can be checked out. Payment for a lost book is reimbursed should the book be found and returned in good condition (Wallace School District items ONLY.) Any items checked out from school must be returned and paid for upon withdrawal.

Consequences:
If a student is unable to show Miner PRIDE, he or she will owe one full recess in the library where he/she will write 10 library rules. The rules are saved and if he or she is unable to show PRIDE a second time he or she will read the rules and be referred to the office. If the student chooses not to show PRIDE a 3rd time, he or she will be calling home.
